My dad and I went to Pearl Harbor yesterday morning. It was really amazing to see the ship so close to the surface of the water and think of all the men who died in the service of our country. It made me really proud of my brother and all the others who are serving our country. It was nice to go with my dad too since he is retired National Guard.
I didn't actually do a real visit of the plantation. I called my mom to come rescue us from the nightmare of public transportation (aka "The Bus") and on the way back they stopped and got me a pineapple sorbet. I felt much better after that.

Jade, I love the fact that you shared the Pearl Harbor experience with your dad. I'm sure it was moving for the two of you, especially with Shan in Iraq. Also love the fact that Mom had to come to the rescue. You'll be learning more about that, ha. Jean
I want to eat that sorbet off the page! It looks so good. What a neat thing to see Pearl Harbor. Awesome.
I can't help but notice that your pineapple treat looks as if it is flipping me off.
