new camera

My Aunt Jean called it - I finally got a camera! I'm so happy that I don't have to borrow everyone else's. Taking pictures makes me so happy. I love documenting my family this way. I grew up with albums of beautiful pictures that my mom and dad took using a Pentax Spotmatic with a 50mm 1.4 lens. So many of my memories are tied to those pictures, probably because they allowed me to hold on to the past better because of the visual documentation. I always wanted to do that for my family.

Yes Jade, I did get the Pentax camera in 1971 before we were married but Peggy took 99% of the pictures for our family (thank goodness!). I am so glad all of you are taking such great pictures of your kids/family experiences. Glad you got a camera again. Love, Dad

Okay, I need clarification---Is this the 1971 Pentax Doug mentions? If so, our Minolta, about the same era, is now up and running in VA. Craig's camera was stolen this past summer, while they were out west. I loaned him ours, with, "If it works and you like it, a hundred bucks and it's yours." (He was insistent on a value so we just plucked that our of the air.) I think the stolen camera was a Pentax. We had standard, zoom and wide angle lens'. The oldie's take great pix, just to lazy here to get the film in to be developed. This Fall, an eveloped arrived with five twenties inside. I was shocked. It was like Gramma on steroids.
