"He's smelling at us!"

The other morning, Eli woke up with a majorly stinky diaper. I usually try not to force him to get his diaper changed and so spent ten minutes trying to talk him into laying down for me (meanwhile doing other stuff like getting Ezra dressed, breakfast, etc.) I progressed as far as taking his pants off but then he got cold and ran over to the heat vent which then began blowing hot stinky air into the room. Ezra ran away from Eli and kind of hid behind my back and giggled/yelled, "He's smelling at us!"

At first I thought he meant "smiling" (because he was doing that too) but then realized Ezra was referencing the story I had read to him the night before about Curious George's trouble with a skunk. It made me laugh so hard that he used "smelling" as a verb, like Eli was attacking us with his smell.
