I have been coveting my friend Anna's duty board for weeks and have been brainstorming ways to make it for our boys. My dad can do the wood work, but as far as the cards go, I didn't know. I looked online and all the clipart for chores was just hideous. So finally I thought, "hey, I can just draw the pictures." I was feeling pretty good about myself until I got to "homework". Check it out. It makes me snicker every time I look at it.

Haha, I know right? And What is going on with that hair? I can't believe myself. I actually would like to hire a professional graphic designer to make the cards for me but I'd have to pay her/him in chocolate chip cookies (or some other delicious non-monetary thing).
Oh Jade, I love it! Your drawings are so much cooler than mine. And I can't say I did mine myself- most are just copies of some my mom sent me. I could totally send them your way too via email if you want. Although I think yours looks so much better :)
Anna, my drawings really are awful! Haha, I mean I think if I practiced for awhile I might be able to come up with something usable but I don't have that kind of time because I'd like to have it all set up right when we move in (in Sept). I would love it if you shared your pictures with me! I'll email you.
Jade, I love it. Why is it, in my head I can have a beautiful drawing, painting (when I took a water color class),etc, but, by the time it reaches my hand and the pencil, brush or tool of choice, it's something different? The kids have asked Oma to draw something and then they have the nerve to point and laugh at it.
Amen Jean. But I know YOU can paint. I, on the other hand...
Anyway Jade, all I can say is that's a far cry from the "Tulips" picture. Mr. Gillam would be so proud.
K! So weird!!!!!! I have been printing off those horrible chores clip arts dreaming of the chore chart I grew up seeing at the Ramptons! Can't believe she has one now too! Awesome! My lame system isn't working so I think I'm going to have Stephen make us one like this. And your drawing is awesome!

Jean - I just now saw your comment and it made me laugh because I remember a time in church that one of us (I think it was Jakob - Mom, confirm?) asked my mom to draw a rabbit and she tried but it didn't turn out as well as she hoped, and Jakob was so upset, haha, like my mom purposefully drew a bad rabbit.
