Moving

In one short week we will be moving to Provo. David will be in the MPA program at BYU and I, for the first time, will be by myself with the kids for a large portion of the day. My emotions are like this: 70% excited, 30% apprehensive. I'm excited for the change and we will be near so many family members and friends we haven't seen in a long time. I'm excited for the sun and the mountains and Provo Canyon in the fall. We found a cute little house that is just ours (no tenants above/below/on the side) and it has a front and back yard and it's only 3 blocks from campus. AND the rent is so reasonable. It's been a long time since we've lived on our own and I'm looking forward to proving (to ourselves) that we can do it. I am not looking forward to being away from family. I will miss our family and I'm afraid of being lonely and bored. I will miss Trader Joe's. I will not miss the endless rain from November to May. I don't know about snow. I've never lived in a snowy climate so I'm not sure how to feel about it. I'm excited to be within biking distance of a temple and to be so near the MTC (even though I have no legitimate reason to go inside). Every time I see missionaries I get excited. Speaking of missionaries, Jakob will get back from his mission next May and then he will be at BYU too! Also while I'm still on the topic of missionaries, some of our mission buddies are in the area so it will be fun to see them too (another perk of serving in the same mission as your spouse).

This last week we've been organizing and getting rid of stuff and this week will be more of the same. We're trying to squeeze everything into a 5 x 10 trailer and hoping it will be enough room. It's amazing how much planning and organizing is required when you move. Canceling insurance, car maintenance, blah blah blah. Those are my least favorite parts of being an adult.

That's all.

This is one mission buddy who is excited to see you both. My little family is doing the same thing you are doing (trying to figure out how to move to Provo), as I'm joining the MBA program next month.

BOOOOO! Don't go! I get sad every time I think about it. I wish you would have been a crappy housemate and then I would be glad. But you weren't so I'm not.

Best wishes for a successful move to UT. I just pulled up the MPA Curriculum. Appears to be a program to have David set for success when completed. I love the idea that you'll have a house with a yard, convenient to the campus and I'm thinking there'll be lots of playmates for the boys. Know that I wish all four of you the very best.

Jade, I agree- moving is for the birds. Period. And one of the only bright spots for me about our move is that you are coming to us. So we're excited!

Seth just informed me that you guys are coming my way. We'd love to have you guys over when you get here! And then we'll tell you all the cool things about Provo and become best friends and make Seth and Caroline angry.
