Hmm.

I'm interrupting my journal of our Vientiane trip (let's be realistic, am I ever going to finish it anyway??) to say that my zodiac sign has changed and I am a little dismayed. Not that I buy into that stuff, but you know, I was always a Sagittarius. That's what I was. And now suddenly I am something that is unpronounceable (you know that's a word!): Ophiuchus. That's right, Ophiuchus. And you can see how upset I am because the font just changed. Who is in charge of this? It seems a bit arbitrary, (not that zodiac signs themselves are based on logic that is any less arbitrary).

I know Jade. Of all the shocking zodiac changes, yours is the most disconcerting. But check this out, your dad and I are no longer both Leos. I remain a Lioness, he is now under the sign of Cancer. I am almost a believer since we never could see how, with our distinct personality differences, that the sign of Leo could encompass "one size fits all".

Mom, thank you for validating me. I can always count on you for that. I miss you...

This is very hard news to bear. I am the only one in my family who is still an Aries. Mike is now Pisces (ha!), Oliver is now also Pisces, and Henry is a Taurus. But for real Jade, Ophiuchus is just not right.

Well I hear it is only for newborns but I can live with the switch from Leo. Thought I would include the new astrology description for me:
General behavior: Cancer (the crab) is one of the most difficult zodiac signs to understand. Cancerians can have many different personalities. Most Cancerians like to be at their home, and enjoy large families. You seem unsociable to some people, but you enjoy chatting and gossiping as much as anyone else. You tend to day-dream very often and can be found in a state of fantasy. You enjoy art, writing, and drama, but acting may not be a good career for you because of your tendency to Overact. Cancer is the sign most likely to believe in the zodiac, as well as other psychic happenings. You make a loyal friend and also very patriotic.

I love how none of us seem to 'buy' into the zodiac signs, but it really has caused an upheaval. See, I've always been a Taurus. I have not accepted the change. They say I'm an Aries now. Mmmm....we'll just have to see. Like you, I'll probably never be able to accept it. Stephen a Capricorn? HA. That is not so. He is absolutely Aquarius.
But I don't buy into, I swear. ;)

At least I am still the same sign as you if not Seth. I just wish I could pronounce it.
